When an enlightened saint passes away, their ego has already dissolved through the liberation of what yogis call “samadhi.” This is why the death of an enlightened saint is referred to as “Maha (great) Samadhi (union).” Honoring Maha Samadhi means understanding the yogic path to ultimate freedom.
